Topz Croatian towns to visit on the Adriatic

Rovinj, Croatia

Rovinj is situated in the northwest corner of Croatia, not too far from the Italian border.  Throughout it’s history this town has changed hands many times going back and forth between the Ottoman Empire, Roman Empire and Kingdom of Croats (and probably a few more kingdoms as well!!).  Today it belongs to Croatia, but its not hard to notice the Italian background in the region with many Italian street names as well as Italian speaking residents.  Within a 10 minute walk of the town, there are kms and kms of private rocky beaches and crystal clear water, rent a bike and go as far as you want!! if you ride far enough the path will come up to some water slides!! Great food, historic beautiful town and amazing clean water!

Split, Croatia

Split, is your major hub on the coast, it has ferries to plenty of islands and is usually flooded with European tourists every summer.  You can check out the many shops through the narrow streets of the old Diocleatian palace, check out a Hajduk Split football match (must do!).  Also if you are craving some nightlife, hit up the Bacvice, beach by day, vibrant clubs by night!  And with amazing food on most corners, I always feel right at home here 🙂

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Simply, the golden jewel of Croatia and possibly the whole Adriatic.  Arguably the most beautiful town in Croatia, you have everything you need here.  Clean water, refreshing views, 5 star hotels, amazing seafood…all of this comes with a price though.  Villa’s now sell in the millions and Dubrovnik is becoming a rich mans town, there’s also the growing parade of cruise  ships lining up to park their ships in front of the city walls which hopefully will not pollute the surrounding waters.  This and the other two cities are must see’s.  However, there are also other great towns that i didn’t mention such as Trogir, Zadar and Makarska..all simply amazing in their own unique rights.
