I cant help but agree with the protest on wall street right now. How is it that emails are being censored and blocked? How is it that people are getting arrested for no reason? Why are no major news stations reporting on this peaceful protest? These are all serious questions that need to be answered. It is terrible to see that people who are supposed to be living in a free country have limited freedoms and rights. More importantly, the media should be broadcasting WHY these people are protesting!

Topz Summer Indulgencez
14 09 2011Swimming has to be one of my topz indulgencez in the summer. The sun is warm and relaxing. I can always read a book or chat with other people at the pool. This is probably quite an obvious one for most people, so I dont feel that more than 2 sentences is necessary here.
I love quality spirtits! Nothing i better than a quality drink with friends or by your self after a long day or a good meal. I have been trying to get into all types of various spirits and hope to write a few more in depth articles on Scotch and Rum and Tequila‘s. Speaking of agave, the bottle on the right pictured here is actually Mezcal, I have been pleasantly surprised by the wide range of Mezcal available (you must buy it in Mexico not available at duty free). For those who dont know what Mezcal is..it is made from the Agave plant, the exact same plant as Tequila. The difference is, is that Tequila is made from blue agave which is specific to the region of Jalisco where it is made. This leaves the rest of mexico to call their Tequila, Mezcal, and there are tonnes of good brands and varieties across Mexico. I can sip this one here straight, sometimes with an ice cube and it is delicious. Of course there are also many fine rums that sit well after dinner. My favourite thing to have after dinner is usually a Scotch and Cigar….
Cigars arent just my summer indulgence, it is an everyday, every week indulgence! However being back on a student budget I cannot enjoy them quite like I used to, so this summer has been the last time I could enjoy some really nice ones. Cigars are basically an entire new world that you dont hear much about unless you are in it, i guess like in any other hobby. There so many different rules, techniques, flavours associated with cigar smoking that it may seem a bit overwhelming at first. I got into cigars many years ago, I would smoke the odd one here and there and gradually over many years learned much information, eventually got a book, a humidor, all the proper gadgets and here I am today and avid cigar smoker. Obviously smoking is not for everyone, but if you do decide to dive into this world and dispel some common myths about cigars for yourself, you’ll see it is quite an enjoyable past time!!

Topz fave within reasonable price sushi places in Vancouver
2 09 2011
Urban Sushi
they have two locations one on Granville and one on the corner of Dunsmir and Burrard (downstairs). They have reasonable prices and make very solid rolls. cant complain about the sashimi for the price, well worth it. My favourite thing to get here, is easily their Philly roll, cream cheese and cucumber with salmon on top, mmmm best philly rolls around.
Kadoya
Although Kadoya is right in the middle of Davie street amongst dozens and dozens of other sushi restaurants, its stands out for me since the price is comparable to some of the cheapest sushi in the area and has well above average rolls, definitely worth checking out.
Miko Sushi
Is in the middle of Robson street and will not disappoint. Prices here are above average but you’ll know why once you taste anything there. for me, it was their sashimi, definitely the best sashimi I’ve had in the city, fresh and melts in your mouth mmmm. This is also a favourite places for sports figures to come, many visiting hockey teams will come here to eat as do the Canucks. You can sit

hONOURABLE mENTION
Samauri Sushi
Samurai sushi is right across the street from Kadoya, they also have excellent sushi, however my two knocks on them is that there is almost always a lineup out the door + the rolls are ENORMOUS!! i like to enjoy my sushi not take bites out of it and having it fall apart or try to shove the entire thing in my mouth. These guys would surely be on the list if the made their rolls smaller and didnt have a lineup.
